Safety

Safety is a top priority at Lough Corrib Angling. Gavan is a fully qualified member of the Irish Red Cross ‘Corrib Mask Rescue Service’ which is a declared resource of the Irish Coast Guard.

All members of this service are trained to a very high level in Power Boat Handling (Advanced Level 3), Navigation, VHF Radio and First Responder Medical training.

Life Jackets are compulsory as is the law, and safety equipment including flares and first aid equipment are carried on board at all times. Anglers hiring boats are advised to review the weather forecast prior to fishing, particularly on the Great Western Lakes.
