Lough Corrib Angling

Fishing Report

Feb 2008 - Hello All, I hope you wintered well and are ready for the season ahead. As I write this our opening weekend has just finished here on Corrib with trout rising freely to traditional wets on floating lines as well as being readily taken on sinking lines. Some good catches have been reported from around the lake. My good friend and I hooked into 5 good ones on Saturday but unfortunately we only landed two of them. The fish were in excellent condition and fought hard. Most of our activity was to be had over the numerous shallows as is normal during the early part of the season. We have had a very mild winter here in the west and all is looking good for an early, if not timely duckfly season.

Tight Lines,

Gavan
